HMS Belfast - Risk Management Seminar 2008

PYV Legal Free Risk Management Seminar 17th July 2008 on the H.M.S. Belfast.

An intriguing choice of venue for a risk management conference didn't detract from the risk management issues at hand. The day began with a talk from Clare Jarrett from Lexcel. Following on from Clare, Miles Penfold of RSA gave an interesting talk in two parts, the first part was on Mortgage Fraud and gave some especially useful tips in the current economic climate, and the second part was on Mediation and Miles was able to draw on a wealth of experience on both sides of the table.

We then stopped for lunch and delegates had the unique opportunity to sit down and talk with their underwriter. We were privileged to have underwriting representatives present from AIG, IRS, Liberty International, RSA, Travelers and Zurich. Clive Petty was on hand to assist with After-the-Event Insurance queries and representatives were present from First Title who advised on Residential and Commercial Title Insurance.

The afternoon session opened with Andrew Nickels of Zurich going through a number of claims examples in his captivating style. He was then followed by Fred Jacobs from the SRA who concluded the talks of the day.

Delegates were then able to take a guided tour of the ship by veterans.
